AP Exam Reimbursement
AP Exam Reimbursement deadline- Friday, September 29th!
Attention Advanced Placement Students/Parents,
Charles County Public Schools will reimburse the cost of any AP exam which a student receives a score of 3, 4 or 5. In order to get reimbursed, students must:
1) Fill out a Test Reimbursement Request Form (only 1 form is needed for all exams being reimbursed)
2) Print off the copy of the AP score report from the College Board website
3) Bring the form and the copy of the score report to McDonough High School during regular business hours
Extra reimbursement forms are available in the office, the counseling office as well as the school’s website. The due date to turn in the request for reimbursement is Friday, September 29th.
PSAT- October 11th
9th, 10th, and 11th Grade Students & Parents:
McDonough High School will be offering the PSAT to interested 9th through 11th grade students. The PSAT test will take place on Wednesday, October 11th, beginning at 7:40am. The test will only be offered once and there is no make-up date. Parents/Students who choose to take the PSAT will be excused for that portion of the school day. All 10th graders will be taking the test for free and do not need to register. 11th and 9th graders should sign up with Ms. Welch in the Career Center no later than September 29th. The cost of the exam for 9th and 11th graders is $15.
The PSAT is a practice test that prepares students for success on the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test). Additional information for students and parents about the PSAT can be found at https://www.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt. Additionally, Juniors who do very well on the PSAT may qualify for the NMSQT Scholarship Competition. This competition is not available to sophomores or freshman. Test results are usually received late in December. Students will receive their test book back as well as a score report that gives specific information about their correct/incorrect answers, difficulty level of questions and content each question assessed.
